International Day of Friendship

29th July 2021

This past year or so has been so challenging across the world, and has highlighted some of the deepest divisions including poverty and gender inequality. However it has also shone a spotlight on how we are able to come together as human beings to fight a common cause, and one of the most fundamental forms of this solidarity is friendship.

On this Friendship Day we can all celebrate it by ringing up a friend and having a chat or reaching out to someone who we’ve not spoken to in a while or maybe thinking about what unites people instead of what separates us.

Through friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals we can inspire  and build bridges between those communities. Through our work in Western Kenya we have been fortunate to make many friends and connections that have enriched the work going on there and our lives back in the UK.
