We’re celebrating the sewing machine on #sewingmachineday as it has helped us to provide over 21,700 period pads to 4300 girls over the past few years. Your donations have bought sewing machines in poor and rural communities so women can learn to sew period pads that are given for free to girls. They also enable women to develop their sewing skills and give them further opportunities to make an income and support their families. Both electric and manual machines have been provided and are used but the latter tend to be more efficient in the long term as they break down less! It’s these humble machines that can and do make a huge difference to the lives of girls and women.
