One of the greatest strengths of Power Of Pads is the long-term relationships we build with our partners. Since 2021, we have worked alongside project manager Simon Achieno and local women’s groups in Busia and Kakamega counties, Kenya, creating a sustainable solution to period poverty that empowers entire communities.
Together, we are doing far more than distributing sanitary products. Local women are trained and equipped to manufacture reusable period pads, creating skills, income opportunities, and a reliable supply of pads for girls who would otherwise struggle to access them.
The impact of this partnership continues to grow. Since the project began, an incredible 8,806 reusable pads have been produced and distributed, reaching 1,818 girls across 17 schools. This year alone, the project aims to distribute a further 2,250 pads to 450 girls, ensuring more girls can stay in school and participate fully in their education.
None of this would be possible without trusted local leadership. Simon’s knowledge, commitment, and close relationships with schools and communities ensure that support reaches the girls who need it most. His partnership enables us to create sustainable, locally led change rather than short-term solutions.
For our donors, this is what lasting impact looks like: strong partnerships, empowered communities, and thousands of girls gaining dignity, confidence, and opportunity.
Thank you for helping us invest in relationships that continue to transform lives, year after year.
