The Woodbury Interesting Little Theatre (WILT) is set to put on a performance of award-winning West End comedy hit, The Memory of Water, with proceeds going to charities Friends of Buburi, Jonah House/Hope House Refuge and Mencap.
The six-strong group, including FOB charity trustee Noreen Collins, is preparing for a two-night stint at Woodbury Village hall on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th June 2011 from 7.30pm.
The play, written by Shelagh Stephenson, sees three estranged sisters come together and make arrangements for their mother’s funeral.
WILT have proved popular with local audiences in the East Devon area and have had huge success with various performances over the years. Friends of Buburi are delighted that the theatre group will be raising money for such worthy causes alongside their own.
Noreen is excited about the upcoming performance, “It’s wonderful combining two of my passions – theatre and my charity work – to not only put on a funny and entertaining performance but most importantly raise money for Friends of Buburi. We are busy rehearsing the play as much as we possibly can and all hope that we can pull it off in true WILT style!”
