On Wednesday 11th March Sean Collins, from Mindfulness and Meditation was invited to give a talk at the Waterlooville branch meeting of the Federation of Holistic Therapists. Expected attendance was 12 – 20 people, so the 34 that turned up really filled the room and made it a great evening.
The workshop style talk took the attendees through mastering a mindfulness practice, therapists learning how to use mindful movement to stay present and avoid strain and injury, and finally looked at “the way of the therapist” – how to turn the day job into a source of meditation and happiness.
It was a great, nurturing, sharing evening, but many thanks to the FHT for going beyond that.
Group organisers Hazel and Julian were asked if they would donate the money allocated for the speaker’s fee to the Friends of Buburi. They agreed, but at the end of the night they also added all money raised in the raffle along with all the profit from their entrance fees for the night, making a grand total of £171! Brilliant!
The FHT and Sean were learning some skills to improve health and well-being in this country and in the process raising money to improve health and well-being in Buburi. Result! Many thanks to you all for this support.
