Here in the UK our charity is run entirely by volunteers and that’s why 100% of the money we raise goes directly to the work we do in Buburi. So volunteers are vital to us here but we also welcome volunteers at our health clinic in Buburi too as we know that everyone has a valuable contribution to make. You don’t have to be a health professional to join us, you may have other really useful skills like building and maintenance, painting, administrative, training or cooking, to name a few. You could help us gather case studies and photos to help with our fundraising and even accompany our community health workers as they visit local villages to give health education. You’ll also have the opportunity to experience life in rural Kenya. Recent volunteers have told us that they thoroughly enjoyed their time in Buburi but acknowledged that they had to be flexible, adaptable and willing to get involved in village activities. However, they said their experiences were very positive, ‘life changing’ and ones that they’ll never forget!
If you prefer to stay closer to home you can help us organise fund raising activities, spread awareness of our charity through social media or join the many knitters who make fabulous and much coveted knitted baby clothes and blankets for our babies in Buburi.
