Menstrual Hygiene Day

28th May 2025

What does a #PeriodFriendlyWorld look like for you? For us at Power Of Pads it is a world where every school girl in rural Kenya has easy access to products and facilities that allow them to manage their period easily and with dignity. We’d like them to grow up without embarrassment or stigma attached to menstruation. And we want them to be safe in school so they can continue their education, not excluded because they can’t afford period products.

We are fortunate that other organisations in Kenya also have this vision and have joined with us so that we can work together to realise it. Our partners understand their local context and have found women willing to make reusable pads to distribute to girls in local schools for free – women who also want the girls in their communities to grow up managing their periods well. In fact, we are asked to partner with more organisations than we are currently able to work with. The need to do more is always there. Will you join with us to help create a Period Friendly Kenya?
