In a changing world, one thing is constant: we’ll always need the toilet. On #worldtoiletday, it’s a reminder that safe toilets save lives and are a basic human right. However in some of the communities we serve, basic toilet facilities are a non existent luxury. Imagine having your period and you don’t have a toilet to use to change your pads and wash your hands. It’s an unsafe and unhygienic situation that millions of the poorest girls and women are affected by.
Whilst Power Of Pads can enable communities to produce and deliver period pads, we know that often the toilet facilities aren’t there and so menstruation with dignity can be very challenging. Safe toilets can empower girls and improve health and it’s a basic yet vital facility we take for granted.
So no matter how the world alters, some things will never change – our need for toilets is one of them.
